Mobile App Privacy Policy
For the Pharoah Technology apps published on Google Play. Plain English, not legalese. Last updated 2026-09-06.
The short version
Our mobile apps run entirely on your device. They have no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party trackers. They do not send personal data to Pharoah Technology Ltd or to anyone else. What an app finds — a scan result, a verdict, a baseline it has learned — stays in that app's private storage on your phone and is removed when you uninstall it.
This policy covers: Pharoah Safe Room, Pharoah Vehicle Scanner, Pharoah Scarab, Pharoah Privacy Audit, Pharoah Mobile Shield and Pharoah LinkBond. Our website has its own, separate privacy policy.
What we collect
Nothing. The apps do not collect, store off-device, share or sell any personal data, and they contain no software development kits from third parties that would do so on our behalf.
If you email us for support, we will hold your email address and message for as long as the conversation is relevant, then delete them — exactly as described in our website policy.
Permissions, app by app
Security tools need to look at things ordinary apps do not, so each app asks for a small set of Android permissions. Here is every one and what it is for. In each case the data is read on your device, used for that feature, and goes no further.
Pharoah Safe Room (co.pharoah.saferoom)
Sweeps the room you are in for nearby Wi-Fi and Bluetooth transmitters so you can spot hidden cameras, trackers and rogue access points.
- Nearby devices / Bluetooth / Wi-Fi — to listen for transmitters around you.
- Location — Android requires the location permission before any app may scan for nearby Wi-Fi or Bluetooth devices. Safe Room uses it only to unlock scanning. It does not record where you are and never transmits a location.
Pharoah Vehicle Scanner (co.pharoah.vehiclescanner)
Sweeps a vehicle for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi transmitters consistent with hidden trackers and covert devices.
- Nearby devices / Bluetooth / Wi-Fi — to listen for transmitters in and around the vehicle.
- Location — required by Android to scan for nearby devices. Used only to unlock scanning; no location is stored or sent.
Pharoah Scarab (co.pharoah.scarab)
Audits the apps installed on your phone for indicators of stalkerware and remote-access tooling, and explains what it finds in plain English.
- Query all packages — to read the list of installed apps and their permissions so each one can be checked against the risk rules. The list is analysed on your phone and never uploaded.
- Foreground service — so a scan can finish if you switch away from the app.
- Network — Scarab declares network access for a future, strictly opt-in report to a server that you operate. In this release nothing is sent anywhere. If that changes, it will be off by default, switched on only by you, and this policy will be updated first.
Pharoah Privacy Audit (co.pharoah.privacyaudit)
Checks the local network you are connected to for likely cameras, recorders and the classic network attacks (evil-twin Wi-Fi, ARP spoofing, rogue DNS) and gives you a plain-language verdict.
- Wi-Fi state — to read which network you are on and its security type.
- Local network access — Android grants this through the network permission. Privacy Audit uses it only to reach devices on the same local network as your phone. It does not contact Pharoah Technology or any internet service.
Pharoah Mobile Shield (co.pharoah.mobileshield)
Watches the mobile network around you for patterns consistent with a rogue base station (forced 2G downgrades, implausible tower changes) and audits installed apps for stalkerware.
- Phone state and location — to read the serving-cell information Android exposes (network generation, cell identity, signal strength). Mobile Shield keeps a small on-device baseline of the towers it has seen so it can notice something unusual. It never reads or handles your IMSI or IMEI, and nothing is transmitted.
- Notifications and foreground service — so it can keep watching while your screen is off and tell you when it sees something.
- Query all packages / usage access — for the stalkerware audit of installed apps, analysed on the phone only.
Pharoah LinkBond (co.pharoah.linkbond)
Pairs your phone with a GhostWire router, tests the link and switches between its normal and secure Wi-Fi networks.
- Wi-Fi and nearby devices — to find and join the router's networks.
- Location — required by Android to scan for Wi-Fi networks. Used only to unlock scanning.
- Network — to talk to the router on your local network. LinkBond does not contact Pharoah Technology.
Data kept on your device
Some apps keep a local working file — for example Mobile Shield's baseline of the cell towers it has seen, or a saved scan snapshot. These live in the app's private storage, are not readable by other apps, are never backed up to the cloud by us, and are deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data in Android settings.
Children
These are professional security tools for adults. They are not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, of any age.
Your rights and how to reach us
Because the apps send us nothing, there is normally nothing for us to hand over or erase. If you believe we hold anything about you, or you have any question about this policy, email info@pharoahtechnology.co.uk and we will deal with it directly. Under UK GDPR you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If an app ever starts to send data anywhere — for instance an opt-in report to a server you run yourself — we will update this page first, the feature will be off by default, and the app will tell you plainly before anything leaves the device.
Who's responsible for this
Pharoah Technology Ltd, company number 17220127, registered office 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom, is the data controller for these apps.
